My Opinion On The Current Internet Crisis (SOPA) (Mega Upload)

The Removal of Megaupload.com from the net
 Megaupload.com had 150 mil registered users... Think about how many of those users actually meant good to the web and was providing for their family from doing business through megaupload.com without breaking the law.



Ok, so the Gov have shut/shot it down because they have breached piracy and internet laws.


Unlawful activities are being done there and on other sites such as the illegal distribution of music, videos, pics you name it(stuff)!! While those activities need to be reduce, one must come to grips that it wont stop suddenly on the net even if SOPA is place into effect. Ok so maybe the site was doing more "harm than good". However personally i feel that just suddenly knocking the site off the face of the web is also going to do more "harm than good". I don't want to go into explaining that, but one can just imagine how much valuable/priceless content was kept there by normal law abiding individuals.



Suddenly Shooting!! down the site is not going to solve the problem. As seen so far this as sparked a Mega Internet War and this is just going to escalate from here on.. I feel that the Gov want (SOPA) this because of 2 main reasons. (1) is to protect their self more than any thing else. The word they like to use is "classified info" too much of their wrong doings are being leaked on the net and to stop all of this they need the net to be censored. (2) Also personally i feel that the US Gov acted on ego and with the intention to protect their affiliates such as Universal Music etc etc.. These bills don't make no f**ing sense, they have already decided what they are going to do. The Internet is one of the largest if not the largest man made entity, and oh yh, it does not have have a owner. So guess what ? the Gov have taken it up in their own hands and are going to forcefully run this shit!!!. Whether we like it or not.



Protecting affiliates.

Why they chose to do this to megaupload.com after they announced that they were going to start distributing music and will be paying the artists a significant amount of the royalties. I guess Universal Music did not digest that too well. Oh yeah i also heard today that youtube was asked to remove a recent commercial, in which they did. This commercial had world renown musicians supporting megaupload.com new music endeavors such as Swizz Beats, kanye West, Jay-z etc.


I guess little by little we are all being trained to be like robots, we are currently being programed and told what to do by the button pushers.


This was written base on my a moral mind set, i have no idea about the laws surrounding the net. I just wanted to express my feelings about the matter. I love the net as is and would not to see all of this freedom taken away.

 I am Nicolas Simpson (NixS). I am 22 year old college student from Jamaica. I am currently pursuing a BSc in I.T.  I did IM (Internet marketing) for about an year, but stop of recent because base on observation i came to the conclusion that it's very hard to make money doing IM from where i'm located (Jamaica) due to the lack of interest by persons here and also i think the search engines and so on e.g. persons and companies don't give sites from here that is IM related much priory on the web and oh yes i have facts to prove that, but i will not get into that now.

What Do I Do?
  Every now and then me and my friends keep some form of party, however that don't pay the bills so i'm here about 2 months into my latest adventure and that's building the brand "YardHype" which will be about Jamaican entertainment. Initially i wanted to create a website called hardhype.com however at the moment i'm strapped for funds so in the mean time i'm here just trying my best to build the brand name through the leading social networks such as facebook, twitter and youtube.  I'm not too sure whether or not youtube is considered as a social network so correct me if i'm wrong.

My Purpose
 Personally i don't think that everyone was born with a specific purpose, if you disagree? no problem.
However i feel that we are all born to experience this wonderful phenomenon called "life" and if we discover a purpose along the way or a path that we want to take? That just make living it a bit easier.

 The path that i have chosen for my self is to become a difference in my family both educationally and financially, in a good way of course :), then that purpose will become to make a difference in my community at large, trying my best not to become the typical ghetto young man(always on the corner). After i have accomplish those two then i will start to look at the bigger picture of making a difference in my country (Jamaica) by advertising our culture to the world and help to bring forth positiveness in our youths. Showcasing Jamaica culture to the world is what i am trying to do with YardHype so some times i feel as i am doing this backwards :). Well i guest I have to start from somewhere and either way will be a work in progress just moving from one stage to another for the sky is the limit for me.
